I have been working with the roland xp-60 for a while now and i notice a few quirks that i can't figure out:

1: Occasionally, when i save a project and then comeback to it at a later time...normally to adjust levels...when i adjust the "part level" (volume of the sound) there is no effect....i lower the level down to zero and the sound comes thru just as loud as when it was at 127.

2: Sometimes when i record a sound and then go to adjust the levels (at a later time) or erase the sound and try to record it again, the sound comes up as the original preset sound for the specified track...i think this might be part of the prob. with the above question?

3: When i try to change a certain sound (one that has been recorded already) and change it to a different sound/patch...once recording starts, it resets to the previous sound/patch.

Most of these problems happen when i'm trying to work with beats that i have made in the past and want to tweak with now...could it be the way i saved them...i normally save them in song + sound mode...could this be the problem. Most beats that i make nowadays, i do all the level adjustments before I save them so i don't have to go back and mess with them later. Also, i haven't really noticed most of these problems occurring as much or at all on beats that i have made recently.

Any info appreciated...Thanks for the support!

is the patch routed to the fxs? turn them off and try it. also try this. HOLD PERFORM and press PATCH. make sure you do this while your on the sound you want to edit. press the button under WG(f2)and adjust the WAVE GAIN. if that doesnt work press the button for TVA(f4) and adjust the TONE LEVEL. if these things dont work go into MICRO and adjust the levels.

????????? was the sound supposed to change?

i have never had this problem. however IF you did some SERIOUS tweaking and you played with the layers and stuff save it as a USER PATCH.

i have never encountered the problems you have. hope it all works out.
