Hey there, I have a Roland VS 1880 and the manual says I have to buy the CD burner that they suggest, that I cant just use any old brand X cd burner. Is there a reasonable facsimile available that is cheaper (and perhaps slightly more reliable) than the one that Roland says I HAVE to buy?

I need one soon, and of course I left it until the last minute, but the Roland ones seem like a rip off.
Thanks for the ghelp!

I contacted Roland a couple of years ago about that and they said NO!
That might have changed by now, but knowing Roland it probably hasn't.

High !

There are a lot of plextors that work, some JVCs and I think some TEAC, all of these non-Plextors being older models which you prolly get used only... I bought a used JVC2010 and a Plextor 12/4/32 and work nice for me...

Take a look over at vsplanet.com and do the search (BTW have you searched here?)

P.S.: I own a VS880ex and a 1680 so it MIGHT be different with you machine... Do you still have the OS midi files for it? Edit it in a good PC editor and search for plextor around there, there is all models listed...

Hi!

Thanks so much for the help.
Yep...Plextor is definitely the answer. Everyone I have asked has said the same thing. I am going to run right out and buy one.

cheers
