Hi there!

I'm soon to buy a new soundmodule -but which one??

Maybe some of you will share your knowledge with me...

Here are my needs and thoughts..

I allready have a masterkeyboard (ensoniq sd-1) so I don't need keys. I could sell the sd-1 as I'm not using it alot and use the money to buy something a bit more expensive (read with keys also then..) But my first choise would be to keep the sd-1 and go for a module. The music I would use the module for could be described as "experimental electronic" and indie-like stuff.

I need a mix of real and more weird sounding basses and drums. Piano sounds which are often discussed I don't care about. The same with brass. good EFX. good synth-sounds. good pads. I don't need a sequencer to come with the module. And most of all it has to be easy to edit the sounds.. I'm not into tweaking around in submenus and go deeply into programming but I do like to make new sounds if it is done fast and relativly easy. The RANDOMIZE PRESET function on the Emu's seems nice for a lazy bastard.

I have considered the Triton but I often hear that people describe it as cheasy sounding (I guess some of the sounds..). For a module in this price range I don't want to even consider if it does overall.

The jv-2080 seems nice. A lot of sounds. Nice big display. hugely expandable. xp30 would be anoption to if it goes for a good price used somewhere. I like the big display on the jv-2080 though and if can be found including some exp cards I guess it would be as vast an amount of sounds as the xp30.

The Proteus 2000 and the new 2500 I really don't know much about but they get good reviews and the 2500 seems like a monster for the price..

Others???

Any ideas or feedback on the things allready mentioned would make me a happy man :-)
