Hello everybody. I recently bought a roland vs-840 to record our band as it can record 4-tracks simultaneously. We're currently only a trio. Anyway, about a week ago, we finished 3 songs that are the best quality we've received so far after much setting up and help. But know I come to the problem that I don't know what to master them onto because the zip disks for the 840 have unreadable files when put onto a computer. I did convert the files, but I can only convert 2 tracks in one file with the br8 converter and anyway, these files are the UNMASTERED versiosn, so levels are somewhat off. THe br8 converter is just a tool for converting individual tracks into wav and then mixing them on your computer. So then I downloaded cakewalk, and I thought, this is way too complicated, there's easier ways to master onto a cd for final listening. Somebody told me to buy an external cd burner (he has an 840 also), I lost touch with him and forgot to aslk him how to hook it up to my roland. I don't have a printer jack, I have output rca jacks and some coaxial digital outputs, but I'm not sure what and how I do this. Do I get maybe a USB to RCA converter? Which slot does it hook into anyway. THe headphone monitor, the master out audio? I'd appreciate any help, thanks a bunch.
PS - I'd also appreciate ANY other suggestions for mastering. Thanks a bunch.
