So, I've been trying to add more ooomph to my tracks. I think it may be too off with low end. I tried to make the snare sound more full and better. Maybe in this mix the drums aren't loud enough. I'm working on an album of stuff like this and kind of need to figure out how to get the over all sound for the final product.

Any input & ideas are welcome.

Phil,
the link doesn't go to the song or to your music page either. Sorry.

No what happened was I was real tired and though it sounded ok, after recording vocals for hours. Then when I heard it on normal speaker just way too many things were off. So, I deleted the song lol.

Keep in mind after a few hours no one responded so I figured it would go unnoticed and couldn't find a delete button for this thread. I guess ear fatigue happens to everyone, but I'll upload a new mix of it in a few days when I get to the point where I feel some input would just make it better.

By the way are any of your guys familiar with Roky Erickson's stuff? I'm a huge fan and have a hard time believing most folks don't know who he is...

I've heard of his brothers Rocky Balboa and Rocky Dennis, but never heard of Rocky Erickson.

I'm pretty sure he was a Texan.
Psychedelic jug blues, locked up for dope smoke, years in a psych ward came out worse than before and is making a comeback etc etc. Hey, it may be WEST Texas though.

this is cool...the bass is a little low and im not sure about the french horn parts matching the harpsichord :)

Very vague description by racy. It's a little close, but not exactly the whole story LOL. If you dig some of his shit hit up google because his story is pretty incredible. Making a come back isn't exactly the right way to put it. Anyway have a little taste...

I read about his semi rehabilitation towards reality & how his brother was closely involved but has, lately, been rejected.
To go to hospital to avoid a short stint in gaol for dope & then be incarcerated for many years - man, I'd certainly have a go at that solicitor!
I don't like the mix in the elevators' 1st LP!.

Something like that. He's got a documentary out and it's kind of F-ed up how things turned out.

I did my reading a couple of months ago in a LONG article in UNCUT or MOJO. He was/is almost as difficult to be around as Cpt Beefheart it appears.
Night of the Vampyres is pretty cool - the long guitar lines make it for me.

He's not playing with a full deck, no doubt. But I can almost guarantee my version of Burn The Flames will probably send ol Roky running for his medication. All joking aside serious mental illness isn't something anyone can control especially in the case of schizophrenia, which is basically incurable. The medication can help you ease into it, but it's never controlled.
