Can anyone explain the 3 position slider (switch) on the back of the Rode NT2? I know the far right position is a
-10db pad. The one to the far left has a right angle symbol and the middle position has a straight line __. I have the manual but it doesn't explain this. It also states that the NT2 has a high pass filter, but doesn't explain how it's activated. I've gottten several opinions on this and was wondering if anyone knows for sure. Thanks.

Most capacitor mics are cardioid only, or offer a choice of all the main pickup patterns, but this model is switchable between cardioid and omni patterns. A 3-position switch allows you to select a 10dB pad, an LF roll-off filter, or to bypass both these functions. This prevents you using the pad and the roll-off settings at the same time, but in most situations, this isn't a serious limitation.
