Rode NT1A vs. MXL V69ME ??

Hi,

I have the NT1-A and am really impreesed with it. Great for vocals and acoustic instruments. Have you also considered the Rode M3. It's a smaller and cheaper diaphragm condenser mic with multi power options as well (use can use 48v phantom power or an internal 9v battery). Good luck with whatever you go with.
 
I love the darker tone of the AKG Perception 220 and it works nice on both guitar and vocals for around the same price, the SM7b Could also work quite nicely.

But for either mic, try get a nice little pre amp to go with it to bypass those harsh behringer ones.
 
just listened to your cover of wonderwall, you've a very nasally character to the vocals on the track, I suggest first of all singing more from the throat and stomach, stand up and maybe give yourself a little more space to let the vocals develop could help a lot
