I just bought a Rode K2 microphone in perfect condition, with one minor (or perhaps major flaw)-- it doesn't have the dedicated power supply. The warranty has expired and Rode will not sell the power supply individually.

I was just wondering if anyone has had success powering any Rode mics that come with dedicated power supplies with a non-dedicated power supply, or perhaps phantom power through a mixer. Or maybe someone is selling a Rode power supply for some strange reason. I might have to end up modifying the mic, which will be a pain, but for how much money I saved, its worth it.

I have a Rode K2 and love it...

Before I went to modifying the mic, you might want to think of selling it, then with funds from that sale, but yourself another mic with power supply...

Where's the old power supply? Even if it's not working I'm sure it could be fixed by an electronics repair shop or something? Surely, when it broke someone didn't just throw it away...
