Rockwool in Holland?

Hi all

I'm planning of making some corner trap's, so i need rockwool
But you have a lot of rockwool types

1. Wich type(s) of rockwool are good for this aplication
2. what is the price

I'm in the netherlands/holland

I'm in Holland, too, and I'm STILL wondering where to get this stuff everybody calls 703 fiberglass over here!
 
I've found out that Owens something, the guys that make 703, is called "Knauf" over here. And Knauf is actually situated in Holland! I'm waiting for the money to come in but when it has, I'll be looking for this stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if it's for sale at regular places like Gamma, Praxis etc. You probably have to order it in advance, but if you search the web there's already a ton of places that sell knauf.

I've seached for NRC and the like, and did't find anything usefull (to ne)

"harde glaswolplaat"/"stevige glaswolplaat"

that's what you should see, and if I'm not mistaken, that's the stuff you're (we're) looking for!
 
Isn't "knauf" that white stuff you use to put on your brick walls ?
In dutch: "bezetten"
 
Hi, I'm from Austria but I bet you get most of the stuff in the Netherlands too!

You can take products from any of these companies:
Rockwool
Isover
Heralan
Ursa

Just call the tech department of the companies and ask which product they sell in Holland has which density. It's the fastest way.

The all have excellent substitutes to OC703 and are cheaper cause no import from the US.
I bought a product from Rockwool for my own build with a density of 55kg/m³.
Isover and Heralan, both sell glasswool of around 50kg/m³.

what substitute did you buy for 703 from rockwool? product name etc?
 
It's called Fixrock 035 in Austria.
If you're making a cloud or a normal wallpanel you might want something with more density eventualy. But it would work as well, for ""full cavity" cornerabsorbers it's fantastic.

Yes we know, but the probleme is what producs
knobody knows, including sales weasels @ GAMMA , PRAXIS ect (kinda like guitar center but then for do-it-yourself )

As I said, call the tech department of Rockwool directly, they know the densities. I'll always do that cause suppliers haven't got a clue when it comes to data, especially absorbtion and densities.
 
I will be checking out different stores (gamma, praxis etc) in the Netherlands today in search of some Knauf/alternative. I will post my results.
 
Ok, I've been to the stores and these are the results:

I went to 3 stores:
Karwei
Gamma
Praxis
(these are big dutch hardware stores)

Karwei was the only one the carried both Ursa and Isover. I could not find any of the other brands (although there were some Knauf products at Karwei, but no wool). Gamma and Praxis carried the same products, only Isover.

All the rockwool and glasswool all the stores had was not very riggid, the fluffy stuff, either with or without silverfoil on the back. They carried them in rolls or plains of various thicknesses though. I could not really find a use for them because they were not rigged enough (I wanted to hang some planes from rails accross the sealing horizontally but it would not have hung straight). It wasn't cheap either (would cost me about 100 euros for a simple 3x3x3 meter room).

There was also this stuff called Isofix. It looked great. No wool, very rigged, especially made for acoustical absorbtion, came in packs of 5 or so plains. It was expensive though. I would have to spend about 250 euros on just that stuff for my 3x3x3 room.

So it seems I'm out of luck. I couldn't actually find any "riggid" fiberglass/rockwool, and all the good stuff was really really expensive. I will keep looking for the riggid kind though. Hope this info helps people!
 
Rockwool (the company) make a product called RWA45 which appears to be the european equivilant of oc703

RWA 45 is it in England. In Austria for instance you get Fixrock 035 (55kg/m³).

Halion, you must contact building material suppliers. Normal Home depots don't carry the stuff we need for studiobuilding.
The specialized suppliers give you great discounts when you take a lot of a certain product. In my case I came way cheaper for 15mm drywall in comparison to normal hardware stores/home depots.

Thanks dreamer, that's what I'll do. I've found a webshop that sells rockwool 211 (which seems to be what I want) but they don't ship to my place :(
