I did a lot of recording a couple of years ago, then we moved and my gear sat in storage for a long time. Finally have a band going again and we're getting ready to record a couple of tracks over Christmas break. Then Mother Nature dumped a ton of ice and snow on us, so I had 4 days of uninterrupted time to throw together some tracks to practice recording in the new room and get back into the habit.

Anyway, song number one was "Run Run Rudolph," which is also listed. This one is "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree." It definitely presented more of a challenge than the first one did. Let me know what you think.

Hi there!
First of all, nice rock'n'roll vibes.
I'm by far not a mixing expert but as a drummer I have to say the snare pops a bit too much while the bass drum is buried in the mix so I would try to balance those out. Also I guess you could pan the rhytm guitars more like I heard you did on the Rudolph song :)

I had been playing with LCR mixing, but the trouble I ran into here was that the Telecaster had that defining riff through the whole tune. I couldn't get it to feel right panned full L with the acoustic panned full R.

As far as the kick goes, I think I'm going to have to get creative... I'm not sure that my budget Audix mic can quite get the click of the beater. On top of that, I realized the bass guitar was way more active than the kick drum is, which certainly doesn't help. Not really sure what to do there. I tried turning it up, but then it just got boomy without adding any real definition.

Phase reversal of the overhead. That fixed it, I think. I need to upload a new version.

The Telecaster is a bit loud, no? And that snare is CRACKing! holy pop. The solos 3/4 of the way through are very loud as well. Leveling, panning, and that snare...looks like that's where i'd start.
