I love the slapback vocals. What are you using to achieve that effect?

Overall I think the vox are a little loud in the mix.

Nice work, and welcome aboard, Ricky.

Thanks, Supercreep!

My wife and I had a debate about the voice :-). She felt it needed to be louder...

I used the Create XT for the slapback, and then into the DAW. I know that is unorthodox, but it's just a great vocal effects tool. And probably close to how they recorded in the 50s ;-).

I really appreciate your feedback! I am a complete beginner at this, so feel free to add any comments, tips, etc if you have time...

Thanks again,
ricky

Really cool sound. Sounds like the 50's for sure. I think the vocal level is about right. I like the slap echo effect on the vocals. Cool bass line, which I think could come up in the mix just a slight bit. Nice playin' on the guitar

I'd up the bass a touch - and I found the guitar a bit toppy after a while... and a matter of taste but I'd dial back the voice echo just a tad perhaps...

But nice work overall... welcome to the madhouse...

Thanks guys for your advice! The overall consensus seems to be to make the voice lower, and bring up the bass.
Armistice, what should I do about the guitar in your opinion? I am completely new to this, and appreciate any tips!
thanks,
ricky
