hello everyone. A little while ago i posted a couple of solo songs i recorded, but here are some songs from my band just before we broke up. I wrote both of the songs, and i was curious to see what anyone thought of the ideas, because i do want to find another group of kids to play with. These are only one mic recordings from practice, but you get the idea. Basically, does this sound new and good, or weird or what?

Acm,
Hey, do me a favor and post those puppies on NWR so I can get a stream.......downloads kill me, dial-up really blows. I'd love to have a listen.

My 2 cents...

Doesn't work for me...

Love the main theme - lots'o'potential here - really. Need a second different-but-complimentary theme for the (yet to be written) verses, and yet a third d-b-c theme for the bridge/solo.

This song screams for lyrics... You workin on some?

The first song has oodles of potential. Good, rockin' feel to it, the time sig in 3 grooves very well. Nice chord progressions, and the two-guitar dynamic works well in the middle section. It needs lyrics, like manifold says. Definitely develop this one some more!

The second song sounds a bit too unfinished for me to get a handle on it. I can't see where you really want to go with it, especially with that huge gap between the repetitions. If you were to alternate them with something rhythmically very different (what's there is very straight quarter note heavy), it might work as a slightly punkish-type rocker, but I'd need to hear more to pass judgement...
