Awhile back I was thinking of how many bands have come and gone and wondered when some bands played during the life of other bands. So I put a spreadsheet of various groups and singers, mostly rock, showing when they started and stopped up to the present day. I choose those that started from 1954 to 1990. I got most of the dates off the web, so if there are any errors, I apologize in advance. I hope you find the data as interesting as I have. :cool:

Just on one of the top lines: weren't Ann and Nancy Wilson around, like, 10 or 12 in 1963?

According to what I read, they were not part of the early formation of the band. Ann Wilson joined the group in 1970 and Nancy joined in 1974.
 
Man good job.

The Cult could have made more music. THere are some huge gaps. I guess cause of Ian's drinking problem.
 
Man, I dunno, maybe you should cut the bands off when they started suckin'. Of course that would be Loverboy could be left off entirely :D
 
Really...Britny Fox are still together...and you chose to include them on your spreadsheet??? That's terrifying (unless, of course, you are a member of Britny Fox...in which case, rock on with your bad self). :cool: :D ;)

Dang! How did I forget the cars? I was so focused on the Rock-Metal stuff exept for the real early music. At least I got the Ramones in there. :D
 
Thats obviously been well researched, thanks for your effort, as a matter of interest, about the first rock group would have been the Burnette Bros "Rock n Roll" Trio, any idea what became of them, they set the standards we have followed.
