Does any'all have anyinformation or know a thing or two about the techniques used by Rob Schnapf? Also, Does anyone know why him and Tom Rothrock work together frequently?
Irk, this is such a specific question i don't think anyone would reply.
schanpf's worked with so many different bands, beck, vines, elliot smith...they're all very different. good producers know many techniques and apply them differently for different artists. and then, working as a producer is more a musical job than a technical one; that's why you have recording and sound engineers on projects.
my pal worked with him. he's a super nice guy...he has rubbermaid cases full of effects pedals for guitars he brings with him...that's about all i know.
if i remember correctly his father is/was a recording engineer. i heard from my same friend about his dad doing the session for "Mr. Sandman."
