i've been asked to produce a few rnb beats recently, which i thought might be a pretty good challenge, since i've never really tried. thing is, compared to rap, i don't know many rnb artists, so i have a very few sources of inspiration.

any main artists you think i should check out? old or new ones, doesn't matter.

just to get myself in the right mood .

for me its a mood... sometimes i make a R&b track that trully is a hiphop track, i just have singers that can flip a beat and make it a r&b hit with ease.., other times, i make some really smooth r&b..
it all depends on the mood your in and the artist thats gonna be on the song..

for smooth and hiphop type r&b.. listen to a lot of Jagged edge, usher, r.kelly, aaliyah, tlc.. the list can go on and on... listen to whatever you like to get some ideas..monica's last album has some nice cuts on it too..
