Hi there, I'm curious if anyone has had any experience with these cards yet and if they operate more efficently than PCI cards.

I've been leaning towards the HDSP 9652 for a while because of its 3 - ADAT in's, but I could get by on the HDSPe 9632's 1 - ADAT for quite a while. I'm just wondering if there is a jump in performance (latency, multiple channel playback, etc.) because it is PCI-Express.

I'm hoping RME doesn't do what UA did with their DSP cards and release a PCI-e model that has no performance increase over its PCI counter part.

THanks for the help!

One and only bump, guess I'll check with RME if no one knows here.

PCIe gives no performance upgrade over the PCI model. This applies across the board in all audio devices. The 9632 has identical performance to the 9652, in either PCI or PCIe form. Ive been beta testing the RME express cards for them pre-release.

Thanks for the help!

Any idea why companies aren't building their PCI-e cards to utilize PCI-e bandwidth to the fullest? My guess is to release their products in stages to make more money, but what do I know...?

Maybe because having to pipe the audio that a 9632 can manage doesn't even use the bandwidth of pci?
