Has anyone used the Ridata 256mb Pro 20x 30x and / or the Ridata 512 20x compact flash cards that are so popular on e-bay. The 256 is consistantly selling for around $50 and the 512 mb around $125. I"m seriously concidering buying one. Has anyone out there purchased these CF cards and had good success with them?

I just got the Ridata 256 20x $50 on ebay a few days ago and last night and today, it won't bounce tracks.

It's on the compatible list from Fostex, so now I don't know what to do. It may be a bad card, mislabeled, counterfeit, or not compatible, I'm stuck at the moment.

Sounds like counterfeit or mislabeled (same thing?), as high performance 256 cards are typically at least 100 bucks.

Some user in that other thread found a vendor that would take exchanges, since it sounded like they wanted this market, but I had a guy at CompUSA even say that returns on that stuff were iffy.

cf card

thats just great, i just ordered one. Maybe i can hurry and try and cancel. I wish they would work, or not, its hell not finding out until you go to bounce tracks.

cf card

just looked on fostex site, that is one of the cards that will only be recognised if the software on the mr-8 is upgraded, let me know i havent cancelled my order yet, did you upgrade the mr-8?

I trusted the Fostex information, so I didn't even check here on the bbs. I'll never make that mistake again. So last night I did a search on Ridata and I got about 5 users saying that it didn't work. And that was from months ago. I did the upgrade before the new chip since that's what the chart said was required.... -j

Sorry, i didnt see that on the thread?

Sorry, this discussion was happening in a couple threads.

Probably time for a new thread to get a current list of cards that people have lived with for a while and know are solid.
