I'm a rapper, and I have lots of songs to date; but just like a song writter; I to run out of words to rhyme and stuff to talk about. I have a rhyming dictionary but Im looking for a way to help me with alliteration like Eminem uses. Its easy to sit and write a bunch of words that rhyme, but making them make since is another thing. Are there any websites or books that help with alliteration? I love using chain words but I just need a lil help rhymin em' and stuff. HEEELLLPPPP!!!! Lol.

Rhyming and alliteration aren't necessarily the same thing. Alliteration is the use of the same consonants or vowel sounds- as in "the sweet smell of success". Rhyming is easier to understand and it's quite grand. A rhyming dictionary is a great tool, and you have one. Experiment with it, try to find ways to use the rhymes that are suggested as an excercise. A good grasp of the language is definately a plus as well. But really, there are no rules and the more you practice the better you will get at it. Some people seem to be born with the ability to create great lyrics without trying. The vast majority of us have to work at it. There have been some great books written about the art of songwriting, but the best research is to listen to as much as you can, in all styles, and learn and take with you what you can.

Keep working at it...

Damn good post JJtCorsair.

Keep working at it, Ray, practice matters.
I'll see if I can find something on it for you.
In the mean time, you might try some music stores that have books and possibly Barnes and Nobles.
A good question, Ray.
Good luck.

Nice link, Distinkt.
Like all the optitions you can choose from.

the words are month and orange I'm just sittin here munchin four forlorn thor-swore thorns/

alliteration:

we three see seven stupendous seas for a fee of three g's

listen to some pharoah monch for good alliteration.
and read more, I'm guessing the problem may be your vocabulary more than your skill per se.

Not all rhyme has to be "perfect rhyme" .For example the word "month" look at the word...Now something like "tenth"..
The phrase "thenth of the month"..Now say the phrase..It has meter right..The "th" sound at the end ..where as something like " first of the month" does not.. meter yes, rhyme no.JMHO
