I have Cubase 5.1R1 and Reason 2.5. Does that mean I have ReWire somewhere and just don't know it? Or do I have to buy it?

I think someone mentioned it was with one of the packages, but I disremember...

It should already be there. Reason should show up under the devices menu. Search your hard drive for rewire.dll I take it something is not working?

Well, when I got all this stuff ReWire was just for hooking up ReBirth (or ReSomething) into Reason. Or so I thought. ISTM that it was somewhere along the road that Reason could finally be used inside a sequencer. I know Acid is supposed to handle it now too, and that's just with 4.0c or something.

So things have shifted. I think. I've muddled through without ReWire so far, but would MUCH rather be using Reason inside Cubase and Acid than standalone...

I'll search my drives and see what I get. If not, I'll search the CD-ROMs too.

if you find rewire.dll, place a copy of it in your Cubase directory. You should then see Reason in the devices menu of cubase. After starting cubase, start reason and it will be in slave mode and operate from cubase.
