review my mix please

i`d appreciate if some of you professional studio guys would give me a fair review of the mix of my latest track. dont be afriad to bite

Hi, the guitars sound pretty thin, and where is the power on that drum??? The hi-hat has an anoying sound...

The overall balance is pretty good !

Seemed a little weak in the low end.
And the vox got a little out of control in the hook section.
 
Guitars sound a tad bit cheap. POD 2.0???

Lead guitar needs more ambiance/reverb on it.

Snare needs a bit more crack and bottom.

This song would benefit from a bit more bass guitar in the mix.

This is the 2nd really early 80's sounding song I've heard in a row here... what gives? :)
 
AHH the 80s! NOOOOOOOooo.
Yeah the mix is alright. Were the vocals recorded in a small booth? If so record them again and use loads of padding to totally deaden the room or use a big room. Might need to work on vocal eq also. Drums need more power. Boost the bass a little bit at mix down and then boost the lo end from 120Hz down roughly at mastering.
 
A bite

I would say to lower the vox and double it with one track lower just to fatten it up (be tastfull he isn't a rap artist) at the very least I would add more reverb to the singer. It will help suck it into the mix. Maybe raise the the ride it will give the song more ear candy. Just my 2 cents.
