For the sake of effect and creativity, i want to use backmasking but not sure that my Fostex will allow me to flip a recording around backwards. Does anyone know if there's a way to do this since we don't use tape anymore? :D

I dont think you can do it on the VF160. But you can burn the track to cd then do it on the computer and move it back to the VF160.

Okay... I'll bite.

How?
I've wondered this for a while myself...

In Adobe Audition you can reverse a wav file so it will play backwards.
I'm sure that is a feature in most any daw software.

I think just about any .wav soundfile editor will allow you to do it. I have audacity, but I think you can even do it in the "sound recorder" that comes free with Windows. Just reverse it and save it.

Just checked. It will.

Look in Accessories in the Entertainment folder; it's called Sound Recorder.

Hmmm, I wonder if I can do that with N-track...
I may have to try to reinstall Sound Recorder if not...

The sucking thing about Sound Recorder is it is limited to a 60 second file.

What's cool about it, is that you can use it to record streaming audio. :D
One of my friends showed my that the other night - that's when i found out it could do stuff in reverse - because I didn't even know it was included in WinXp. LOL Shows you how much I use the "accessories", although now that I have a digital videocamera, I'm going to try to play around with the WIndows "Movie maker" software.
