I was at the grocery store this evening and i was flipping through guitar player magazine and they had a small add feature ron asheton(the stooges guitarist) with a signature model of their volcano which is a v copy.
They seem to have interesting guitars, has anyone played them?
they seem like a fair price, most of them are made of korina by the looks of it, in the set net models at least.

I've played the Charger and it feels pretty good, nice ax at that price point. The p90 ish pups on it are very sweet!
I wpork at a music store once in a while and we also have the Club King there. If you don't already have a nice double humbucker, it would fill that space in your collection pretty well.

They used to make these in Michigan (in Warren, near Detroit), and I've seen a lot of them. They have the "cool" vibe that Fenders do, but individually are kind of strange birds. A lot of them were chambered or hollow, chrome plated and engraved, and had humbuckers. They went through some financial trouble, though, and have bounced back by switching everything to Korean import and reissuing some of their older models (though the company is still located in MI). They also offer great versions of Gibsons and oddballs for not a lot of dough. They are most definitely worth taking for a spin.

This is all just what I remember, though, so take it with a grain of salt.

They seem pretty good.
Their forum is quite active and that new Ron Ashton Volcano is sweet.
I loved the Volcano, but wanted a version with P-90's. Hopefully I'll be able to pick one up soon.
