hey guys,

I made this like the old days . wrote the lyrics in about 45 minutes. DUH! I stink at songwriting.

Please, any comments and critisicms welcome. I still have about 48 notches to get where I want to be as far as mixing and all your critiques get me there faster

Requiem(novano)

ps. The vocal has some kind of hollowness in the midrange somewhere. I cant quite place it. Does anybody else hear it?

I especially like the harmony vocals...as few of them as they are. You have a special voice, that put in the "right" context, and watching some of the MINOR tuning problems (I feel that the Antares autotune could be used to your advantage...don't slap me!), will be THE quality asset of your material. Your voice just needs to be displayed properly....right song, great performance, the right production, etc. You're lucky to have such a unique vocal sound, and I think it can be exploited to your advantage. I like the bass sound very much, although listening on headphones, I'll pass comment on levels, etc. The piano sound is ok...just ok...not bad, not great..which is what you need...great piano sound..., to compliment your vocals, and not detract.

Problem areas seem to be the reverb at the beginning, the drum sound, and the "tightness" between the vocals. A piano "clam" @ 2:24?...sounds like it.

CyanJaguar,
Wow,great singing.
Pretty darn good for 45 minutes.
Why don't you post the translation for us non speakers.

Great stuff,
Pete

thanks muzeman for the comments. I'll post the translation as soon as I create them.

Mixmkr,

thanks for the critic. Very helpful. Now I need more. I have two questions.

You mentioned the reverb in the beginning being a flaw. What do you mean? Was it the room, the amount, the predelay on the piano? I like it alot like this but there might be something I am not hearing.

thanks for the comments on my voice. a "unique" cant be too drastic. What kind of genre do you feel that my voice would be best in? My favorite singers are Andrea Bocelli and Enya.

I look forward to hearing from you.

thanks again.

Exactly what mixmkr said, plus the pops on the mic and the piano part that has to be redone.

Your genre? Dunno, dude, but you got a great voice and I'd like to hear you drunk and rocking out. Shouty vocals. Sliding up to notes and down off 'em instead of trying to nail 'em right on. I think it would help you with the intonation thing.

So, you don't drink, you say? Well, sacrifices have to be made in this game, yes? :D
