Replacement Diode ERB12-02G1 needed

As my electronics knowledge is limited (think postage stamp size) I need some help.

I've diagnosed that 2 diodes in the PSU of the MS16 look possibly suspect (see other threads).

The manual lists the parts as:

5143243000 - ERB12-02G1

I don't seem to be able to source this at Farnell or RS (I'm in the UK).

I'm sure this is a generic diode but as I have no prior experience of these things I wouldn't know whether a replacement was suitable.

Any help appreciated.

They're just diodes. People seem to be saying that the ubiquitous 1n4001 is a good replacement, and it probably is in this circuit, but the 1n4002 might be a closer match. Probably anything in that family will do fine.

There's probably a reason those blew, though, and it's almost likely that something else was damaged in the process. Do you know why it burnt?

Thanks for the reply.

I don't know why they blew, other than the fan has obviously been blocked by a mass of cables, but I live in the UK which in October is approximately 8-10 degrees C....hardly what you'd call warm. As I outlined in another post, I was recording 16 tracks of tone (I think it was 100Hz when it blew) at 0VU and came back to find everything 'quiet'...ie no signal, no metering, but spools still turning.
There are some big caps on the PSU.....do you think I should remove them and check them? If the caps have gone out of spec, is that a reason the diodes could have gone, taking the fuses with them?

Just finished replacing the two diodes and it powers up ok.

I haven't connected it to the DBX units or the audio rack yet.....I have the recorder on top and the rest underneath the worktop....I really need to make another hole to feed the four large connectors through which I'll do tomorrow.

We'll see then if the fuses / diodes hold. If not then I think it's probably time to re-cap some of the bigger caps on the PSU.
