Hi all

First time here - neat set-up.

I have a Fostex X-28 4-track that I haven't used in a long time but would like to use again. It's in good condition (or seems to be, despite being borrowed long-term by a relative) but the AC adaptor has disappeared.

Any idea where I can get a replacement? Or a decent substitute? The manual describes it as a 12v (11-15v) AD-12T AC Adaptor, giving 15w for 220/240v (I'm in the UK). I've looked on various suppliers sites but nothing seems to quite match the spec and I'm a bit worried about overloading it. There seem to be wide variations in ampage in the universal adaptors I've looked at - does this matter? I've also come across references to positive and negative input - does this apply to the Fostex?

There are two adaptors on Amazon that might seem to fit the bill:

Universal AC/DC MAINS POWER ADAPTOR 300MA 3/4.5/6/7.5/9/12 VOLT

and

Universal Regulated 2000mA AC/DC 2a Adapter power --P-007F

The first is 300mA, the second 2000mA. I have no idea which to go for (or even what it means, if I'm honest).

I'm sure someone out there will have had a similar problem. Meanwhile I'm off to nose around the site - had no idea it existed until about an hour ago. Looks fascinating.

Haven't done this for quite a while but I've recently got my appetite back. Plenty to feed on here, I think...

Big thanks (especially for reading this far!)

Zeb

Is the power cord the same as one from a computer? I know out outlet configuration is different but my Otari machines both take the same configuration.

Same fitting but the laptop output is 19v while the Fostex only needs 12v. Not really suitable but thanks for trying. Seems my problem isn't as common as I might have supposed it to be.
