Removing ground from patch lead

Well i had no reply so i went ahead and tried it, No effect.
 
Try it on just one cable, and see what happens. The idea is to have the shield grounded on one end only. Try the open ground between two pedals. If your problem is still there, just for the heck of it, use a DI with a ground lift between your guitar and the amplifier and see what happens.
 
I tried with a cable between both cables and there was no change, will try the DI box tonight.
 
If it's a hum or buzz, then it's a ground loop. The cable you want to cut the shield on is the one between the pedal board and the amp. You want to cut the shield at the amp side.

It's ussually better to de-solder it instaed of cutting it, just to make it easier to hook back up later.

You might just have a faulty unit. It's funny that you are having the exact problem that the power supply company is telling you it gets rid of.
