Removing fan from northbridge

Hey...
Last night I got pissed off with the noise coming from my computer, so I removed the fan from the northbridge. Hooray noise is gone, but I'm worried about heat now... I figure they put the fan there for a reason.

Has anybody done this? Have any problems afterwards? I see Thermaltake make replacement heatsinks so I guess that would be the way to go. It's a Gigabyte GA-7VA motherboard, it's the only gigabyte motherboard I've dealt with that has a fan on the northbridge..

Thanks!

if your case has good air flow and cooling you might find you don't need another fan there. mine works fine without it.
zalman make fanless heatsinks for this purpose too.

Yeah, this really is a tiny heatsink on it though. I put the fan back on for now, but am going to try this Cooler Master northbridge heatsink. They say that it doesn't need a fan. Thanks for the replies.
