Can some one tell me a trick for getting the plastic reel hubs of a TSR-8? I broke one off cause it was already broken. But I have one that isnt broke but I want to remove it so I have 2 nice new reel hubs on. I took the screw out of the center but man that fucker wont come off. Id like to keep it as a spare...

They tend to stick to rubber pad beneath them. A quick tap with a rubber mallet near the base of the hub (Reel clamper) will get them loose. I've also used my hand... karate chop method. :) Just make sure not to hit on the outer half that screws down or it will crack the plastic.

:)

Stuck to the rubber on the face of the reel table...must have been cranked down pretty good...leave it unscrewed and try drizzling in some window cleaner or something to break the bond...you could try gently prying it with a blunt screwdriver or something too...I'd guess that once it starts to go it'll pop free completely.

Beck,
Thanks...That worked. I was a little afraid to do it but it only took a couple of quick smacks with a piano tuning wrench and a little leather address book for padding. They were so on there that they left impressions in the rubber...
Thanks...
