i just got these heads for my set, are they supposed to be tuned low or high i want a metal genre sound out of them ?

Either way. I've been using Pinstripes as batter heads exclusively for the last 7 years, and I still love them.

What type of resonant (bottom) heads are you using? I use Ambassadors with them, but diplomats also work well with Pinstripes.

Personally, I tend to tune a littler bit tighter than most drummers do, and I tension the bottom head higher in pitch, so the drum has a really quick response and is very "live" sounding, but most drummers tend to tune the bottom head lower in pitch.

Well I only tune my batter heads for the rebound I like to feel when I hit, I "tune" my bottom head for pitch.

Oh yeah and I use Pinstripes also, with evans glass bottom heads.

I use pinstripes and tune them low. Pins are good safe heads. Have fun.

I use clear pinstripes (tuned low) for all tom batter some times ago, with clear ambassador bottom (tuned high).

and then I switched to evans G2 clear, It gives me more tone I want.

and yes, I play metal.
