Im running an Athlon 1.3 (win XP) w/ 384mb ram + 40gig HD + factory soundcard (hopefully w/ CW v.9). I DO NOT plan to dedicate my CPU solely for audio recording, rather use it for internet, webapge design, blah, blah, blah. Will this be a problem? Will I face reliability issues in regards to system resources?

If you dual boot OS's, you shouldnt run into a problem.....have one OS just for recording, andone for everythhing else......

Daled,

What gidge is referring to is cllaed "partitionning" you Hard drive. If your computer is new, it probably already has a smal 3-5 gig partition where the factory software resides (ususally called a system save drive). Anyway, you load your operating system onto both partitions. When you want to record and use your music software, boot the one drive. When you are ready to go out and find some internet porno, boot the other. =) This also alows you to keep your hardware drivers under control.
