well... sonically it didn't
totally blow. You know... there was decent seperation in the mix and what not...
but it still sounds like ass.

I'd have to echo everything else. Tune the acoustic. Maybe double it up so that it fills the mix better. And work on some more fluid strumming. Get a little better on the drums so that you can get a solid rhythm section going (i.e drums/bass). Sing it a little stronger, and bring the vocals up more once you do get a better take. I can honestly say that "performance" was the primary element that was lacking in this recording.
on a side note, you'll have to understand... there are people around here (myself
not included) who post songs that sound pretty darn close to radio quality, or who have musical talent that smokes most of the artist/bands that are on the radio.... and for you to come in here with a
very amateur recording (that needs a butt-load of work) and call one of the most active members of this BBS a "troll", just because he didn't drool over how great you think your tune is... well... that's kind of a dumb thing to do... (just a tip for future reference..

)
But don't get discouraged... there are plenty of other people around here who got off to a much more rocky start than you have with this thread... Just check your ego at the door, come on in, and learn some stuff. If you do that... I guarantee you that in 6 months, you'll be putting out recordings that put this one to shame.
