Recording with the DMT-8 * Please Help*

Hey all..

Just bought a DMT-8 (via e-bay, thus no manual came with it). I also bought the Manual (and supplement) online. In the mean time, while its getting here... Can anyone give me a step by step tutorial to recording with this DMT-8? I've searched the web vigorously with no luck. I'm just using one track at the moment. When I plug my guitar amps line out jack to Track One, I dont get any activity on the screen (for track one). (I did push the Track one button (also says G1 next to it). I can hear music from my amp via the Headphone jack and the Stereo Out jacks. When I press Record, the light blinks red. While holding the record button, I press Play, the record button turns solid red and the time starts. After I press stop, rewind, and play again. I hear nothing...

Anyway.. if someone that has this system, or has used it before could give me a brief step by step tutorial to basic recording. I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say your best bet is to contact Fostex for a copy.

I've already purchased the manual, currently being shipped to me. I just want to know how to do basic recording while I wait for the manual to arrive.

But thank you for looking... I appreciate that.

If you have a basic signal running through the input channel,...

the input channel first has to be assigned to a BUSS, [either L/R or 1/2/3/4].

Once the input signal is assigned properly to a BUSS, then the corresponding target track has to be set to "RECORD"-enabled, at which time, you should be able to see your signal registering on the target track.;)

Totaly lost :(

BUSS? I looked that word up as an acronym.. Backup Stabilization System?

I'm also new to recording.

Is there a different way that could be explained?

Well.. I went to the machine.. and looked around for BUSS, didnt find it.. But I did something.. that made it work.. I've successfully recorded!!! :)

Thanks
