Hello - I'm totally new at this :) How do you record vocals into a PC? Can I plug my mic into my computer and record? I know I'll need some kind of software to mix my vocals with midi files or whatever, but do I need to purchase some special sound card or something to record? I've got a QY100 also but I'm not sure how to record vocals into that either

Thanks.

It probably has a mic port 1/8" which will work but may need preamplification.
The quality wont be that great, so a better card would help tremendously.
Lots of the newer cards come with a software program bundled in for starters.

I highly recommend nTrack software. At $50 or so, it's a great bargain.

This is all you need to record (and a mic), though a better soundcard (and better mic, and better...) will make a big difference.

Have fun.

cheap way......mic>>>mic pre (eg: behringer mic 100, or if you have the money rane ms1b)>>>>line input of sound card. if you dont have a good sound card look at maudio.
i second ntrack. others i love ....powertracks,traktion,magix music studio,
multitrackstudio.com and for free there is audacity and kristal.
