Recording straight into...

Hey well. I do have aproblem recording into a D1600 I find out the scream sounds way to clean and not apart of the music. I know theres something to fix it.. But I was wondering if it would just be better to record Everyone into the D1600 then Record vocals threw an amp with a SM57 if it would catch the distortion threw my scream and sound more imbedded with the song.

Or try to add an effect(compression, limiter, overdrive ,etc) onthe way in

franlky it sounds like you need a preamp of some sort my man....(tube?)
dry miced screams can be pretty lackluster in a mix.
or if you have some descent plug-ins try big K's idea thats worked for me before as well.

It might also be a lack of reverb thats making it sound that way. I would try that before I went back and re-did anything...it might be the answer.
