recording software that's not pro tools

I don't know if this is the correct forum or not. But anyway, I'm looking for some decent, reliable, and not too amateur recording software to use with Mac OSx 10.2. With it I am using an Aardvark USB3, if that helps.

At the moment I've been checking out Metro 6 and Metro Se. Are there any others I should check out before burning some cash.

Motu Digital Performer... I'm not a mac user, but I've heard it's good...
 
Be sure to check out Cubase SX and SL. C-L-A-S-S-Y software. I don't have any experience with other programs for Mac, but I'm sure there are others.

A good friend of mine is a Logic Audio 6 user on Max OSX, but he sure misses his Digital Performer.. much more intuitive according to him..
