A few weeks ago I downloaded a prog called,

Ambient Automat.

It's a squencer. I think that's what it's called.
Anyway, I've been dinkin' around with it and have come up with some pretty neat sounds.

The prog is in Java and is displayed in the browser.

I can't save anything, cuz it seems you can only save to the Server in Denmark, and that part of the site seems not to be working.

My question is, how can I save this one sound that I've come up with.

It plays through my speakers ok, but I don't know how to save something like this.

Thanks.

The mixer control of your soundcard might have, under the Record section, a setting to record "what you hear" or "all" (or something like that). Then you should be able to use your sound recorder software to record the sound made by the sequencer. I'm not sure what effect it will have on the sound quality. For best results, mute everything you don't need (CD player, line in, video, etc.).

You could also "capture" audio streams and soundfont sounds this way, though dedicated software would probably be better. I've only played around with it.

Yeah!!!
That's it. I found it's really easy.
I appreciate it.

If you want a Squencer, small, java, free and it seems to me like it can do a lot, check out the site.

Thanks alot. :)

No problemo, badgas-- you're welcome. :)

Ambient Automat seems like a really weird program! Saving presets to a server... interesting.

"The Virtual Ambient Automat should have been a real time ambient music machine/automat. The idea was to make an algorithm where everybody would have their saying on the outcome of the composed/generated and played music in a way where changes made by one user should have had an effect on the automat experienced by everybody else using the automat."

Almost like how Chumbawumba says they write/record. ;) I'll check this out--always cool to have some sonic strangeness lying around!
