I agreed with bknot on that one. No sense in putting down either one because an artist has to tell a story or make a song the way they see fit to tell it. Just like a painter has to paint with the vision that's in his head.

Christian rap is a joke. Who listens to that shit? Whats next, Muslim rap? Budhist rap? Rap is about being real, coming from the streets. It's not just a type of music, its a lifestyle. It doesn't sound like you had that kind of life experience. If you did, you wouldn't worry about the kind of people you are talking about. And buddy... if you're just getting accustom to this 'genre' of music, maybe you should stick to what you know.

I know someone who does Christian rap. He has a good voice, good lyrics (I guess), and all the qualities of this kind of rapper. But who wants to hear about Jesus Christ and God in a rap beat? lol..

check out my fam praverb...i guarantee he will change your mind....

ok, this turned into something rediculous. leave it up to that kind of mentality to ruin a topic.

Blarg. I'll just stick to what I am currently doing and save my ass from some shady business. If anything, there are plenty of acoustic guitar players and small bands that I can record in my apartment studio with the right room treatment.

I thought it was cool of you to experiment with different genres. Just as you would any other musician, feel them out before you let them in. If the vibe isn't right, offer someone else's services.

Thanks man.

Mobb,

Stop hatin. I make Muslim hip hop and it's been around for a while. I'm a Pac fan and my boy Napoleon (formerly) of the Outlawz makes... Muslim hip hop. Keep in mind that Islam isn't like a lot of religions where you just go to a priest sometimes and that's it. Islam is just living a normal life in God's way (that includes marriage, kids, work, stress, etc.)

Just some artists:
Napoleon Outlaw (tracks like Never Forget
Mos Def (tracks like Fear Not of Man)
United Slaves (tracks like Hell on Earth )
Jurassic 5
Q-Tip (of A Tribe Called Quest)
Ali Shaheed Muhammad (of A Tribe Called Quest)
Muszamil (formerly of the Outlawz)
Aman
11:59
Tyson (Tracks like War Zone)
Kumasi
M-Team (tracks like This Art)

Listen to Hell on Earth[/I; that's some real (Muslim) hip-hop.

Don't judge something just cause you don't do it.

Peace,

The Deen

you sir, are an idiot. in more ways than one.

I'm a Christian by faith, and I do rap about it, but it doesn't make me a "Christian Rapper".

I'm an emcee, and I spit about what I know and what I've experienced. I spit about life, and the reality of this world we live in. I don't cuss, and I don't make sexualy explicit songs...

That's neither here nor there... Stop judging someone elses music just because you don't understand it. Ignorance is a problem only solved by education. Educate yourself before you speak, homie.

Wargasms, Praverb is my man... :)

He keeps asking me for a review of "Wisdoms Cafe" but, I haven't had time yet.
