Recording or mastering effect?!?!? How to?

Ouch...

Still, not a big trick. Much easier with a decent plugin (far superior sound also...). Just bandpass it so it sounds like a telephone.

I know lol, but for getting it for free its better then nothing til I can afford somehing better :o but alright thank you for the help guys. So I could do this 'mastering' in Reaper?!? I was thinking of going the Reaper route to see how I like it since it has a free trial.

It's not mastering at all. It's EQing. Yes, you could do it in Reaper for free. Go check it out. :P

If you want it to sound like it's far away from the microphone or something, you can add some reverb to it.
