hi guys fairly new to this just wondering if i can record on my aw4416 then put it on my pc and use and edit with protools? also if i get protools what sound card should i buy to link up with decent speakers cheers guys

Anything is possible..

But, unless your AW4416 is radically different from mine, you'll find that the process probably involves burning the individual tracks to a CD and then importing into your PC as it doesn't interface with PCs... it predates USB.

This I find too painful to contemplate and have never done it. I do all my editing in the AW4416. What's the nature of the editing you want to do anyway?

I would rather mix on the AW4416 than a PC anyway for what I do due to the motorised faders and there are enough options on AUX 7 and AUX 8 re internal effects for me. If I need something else I print it to the track and stack it up in a virtual track.

The AW4416 is IMHO the best SIAB of its time, but that time was a while back now! Not the least because of the separate LED meter display which I've never seen on any other SIAB

Let me know if you succeed.. :drunk:

You're welcome, really.

Drop in any time and feel free to ask any other questions you could work out yourself by looking at the back of your machine...:spank:

We love it when people just drop in, ask a question and then never bother to acknowledge that someone's answered it... it's what makes the job so rewarding.:D

We could be friends in real life, I'm sure.... is your name really Derek?

I'll bet you like puppies 'n pina coladas, just like we all do here...

Yer gonna fit right in, I can tell... :laughings:
