Hello Everybody,

I've got a question. I'm currently trying to setup an Home Recording Studio, but I've got allot of noise in my recording (Download)

The equipment i'm using is :

Behringer Xenyx802
Korg AX1500G Effect Pedal
Samick Avion LH-3 Guitar

The Behringer mixer is connect to my PC trough a Red/White cinch audio cable to my Mic input on my PC (Standard onboard soundcard)

The recording software I'm using is Audacity.

I hope so one will help this newbie with his problem

Thanks in advance.

Greets, Hertog

[Edit] Forgot the mention what recording software I'm using [/Edit]

You need to go in through the LINE input, not the mic input. That's more than likely where your noise is generated.

Another note...

what setting is your Korg Pedel on? Distortions can create alot of noise as well, adn so can the Behringer Xenyx802. this is more of a hissing sound but in my experience behringer products make alot of noise compared to other boards, but it can be cleaned up afterwards, just an extra step in the recording process.

getting a cheap interface might help with the noise/qualitiy issue as well, maybe a usb mobile pre, cheal and they work pretty well.

Thx :) It worked I changed it from Mic input to Line Input, and now it works like a sharm :D

@Cyanide-Depende, at that recording I was using the acoustic settings on my effects pedal

i dont know for sure but those pedals often have a line out for recording. if so, you could skip the mixer. in general, less equipment used=less chance of noise being created.

oh well

no biggie. use the mixer then. or better yet, use an amp and mic it.
