i recently started a band and i really want to record our music so that we can listen to it and fix the problems. there are two electric guitars, a bass guitar and drums and i dont have a clue as to how to record. i want to keep it as simple as i can because I really dont know anything about recording. could someone please tell me what i need to get started without sinking a whole lot of money into this. is there some way i can run it all into a mixer or something and go straight into my soundcard using dmc auxilary input to convert it to mp3? please help me out. thanks

i'll try and help. do you have a recent newish computer ?
if you do ..eg a intel or amd over 1.3 ghz with 512 ram.
youll need mic, a mixer (eg...yamaha mg - cheap).
and try what i use powertracks from pgmusic.com. 48 tracks on a pc for 49 bucks. if you want more details ask !
