So my current setup is a Profire 26/26 for my interface and I'm using Protools 8 m-powered as my software. I'm recording drums and i want to be able to do a little bit of EQing on each track before recording to get the best sound i can. How can i go about that considering i don't have a mixer/EQ device. Can i setup eq's in the profire software mixer?

Tune the drums and the room. Good sounds start at the source. You can fine tune the sound after you record it.

Unless you have a bunch of parametric EQ's and inserts on all the channels, it's not going to happen.

If you set up EQ's in the software mixer, you aren't EQ'ing anything "before" recording either.

You already have the best advice - Make the drums sound right, use the proper mic placement (better and more effective than any EQ).
