I need to record a 40 voice choir using a track I created in Logic Audio. Is their a way the choir can monitor the track without using floor monitors?

Thanks,
Jim

Headphones...

40 people... that would be a very expensive headphone arrangement. But, being an analog electronice guy, I picked up an FM broadcaster kit (can get assembled) at www.northcountryradio.com. Here's the nice one... http://www.northcountryradio.com/Kitpages/mpx2000.htm

For less than $200, you can create a wireless send, and have people bring their portable radios and headphones. Of course, I always have the problem that more than half of the people don't own a little radio, much less one with headphones.

That's the cheapest I can think of for you...

Give the director phones also maybe the section leaders and let them do it acapella{sp?}

We had to do the same thing at our church.

We bought a project box from Radio Shack and added 20 1/4" jacks in it, with a single input from a Sampson headphone amp.

We place the amp on a table, ask the choir to all bring in a set of headphones (even walkman style are sufficient).

3 overhead mics and we were good to go. It worked pretty good. It is admittedly a compromise, but recording a choir "live" always will be for a home rec'er.

Good luck. :D
