what is a good freeware program to use? or cheap shareware i can use to record from a mixer? also how would the songs be broken into tracks while in session of recording ????? help please

hmm.. u have to record the session and then split the tracks up afterwards... we are talking about dj sessions 'ere 'aight?
I'd go for cooledit from www.syntrillium.com or sumtn like that. Very effective and versatile editor.

No. The songs will be recorded as ONE whole mix. :(

If you want the individual songs to seperated (even during the blend) you will have to do an "edited" mix.

EXAMPLE...

Song A you record on Track 1

Song B you record on Track 2

Song C you record on Track 1

Song D you record on Track 2

Etc... Until you have finished your mix tape/CD.

You will basically be doing "Step Recording".

Record a song>stop>rewind the mix>set an insert point>arm a new track>record another song>repeat process until your mix is finished.

If you need some more help, I will expound on this info. Just post us back.

:)
