Hi All!

First time poster. Thanks in advance for helping me out.

So... I am using an active Ibanez Bass with an on board eq and preamp and am wondering what the best method of recording this would be? When I plug directly in to the instrument jack in the back of the 002 I hear a big buzz sound (probably from the onboard eq and pre-amp built into the bass, right?) Also, the 002 says that these are both instrument and line level inputs, but I am weary of this... any experiences?

Should I use a DI? If so... passive or active? Has anyone had any experience with the Hosa hum eliminator/coupler things?

I have a Mackie 1402 Mixer that I can use as an extra preamp to help color and gain up the sound before going into my 002 unit, but I definitely don't want the buzz in my recording.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

thanks

I have the same problem with a yamaha bass (a new one I bought) and my digi 002 rack. The buzz sound, specially on the low notes. I bought a DI but it didnt seem to help too much.
