I have a GK2A and GR30 setup connected to a SBLive, but MIDI tracking is not as precise as I would like it to be. Any idea on how to record analogic and not only MIDI?

midi is french for "try to figure this out"

i have had similar problems with the same setup
(gr-30/sb live)- the tracking is all screwy, the sounds are incorrect, and the bendability of the strings is lost- however, if you have the live drive with the 1/4" ports @ the front, you can plug in there w/out the midi- you just lose some of your edit-ability- depending what kind of software you have.
i am just trying to figure out guitar studio 2- cakewalk, but also have alot of bugs to figure out

Yes, during the weekend I managed to record analog by connecting the GR-30 output to the line 2 input, but I get NO sound from the recorder app... Then managed to get some sound, but using the Vienna soundfont editor. Problem is the sounds I get come from the internal synth, not the GR-30, and though I can record wav files through the recorder, there is no MIDI input and cannot use the arpeggiator...
As it comes to the tracking, the problem is *NOT* the GR-30, but the applications that record the MIDI. Cakewalk has a bug that crashes it when trying to synchronize and sometimes it takes my system down also. When it works it gets all wrong. I'm now using a very old app, the Win3.1 Midisoft sequencer, and it works fine, not loosing notes. I'm not sure but it has some sort of quantizing that cuts notes before they end (it's normal vs legato feature), although it may be a setting from the GR-30. By the way, the SBLibe Mixer crashes on my system...
So, it seems the only real solution will be to write down my own applications. I already have the MIDI solved and today I'll begin the wav recording part. I believe I can have both MIDI and wave in/out, but can't know until I conduct a proof of concept...

WHEW!

sounds like you are already WAY farther down the road than i am. thx for the insight :)

Not quite, but I'm using DHTML as my interface; once finished I intend to web-publish the application. Stay tuned... ;-}
