I am an absolute newb when it comes to recording. I am using Reaper and Behringer USB Guitar Link UC6102 on Windows XP system.

Got it set up and it worked. Then I unplugged the Guitar link to use the USB port for something else. Now that I have plugged the Guitar link back in Reaper won't play with it.

The Guitar link lights up but if I have even one of the sample projects loaded in Reaper it won't play. If I click on "Play" absolutely nothing happens. Nor can I now hear my guitar through the headphones.

I, of course, have unloaded Reaper, unplugged the Guitar link and plugged back in and restarted Reaper. In the "Options" --> "Preferences" - "Audio" --> "Device" it is showing ASIO and Behringer USB device.

Any Reaper experts that can help this newb? I know this is going to end up being something embarrassingly simple and stupid.

I read that you have already checked what I was suggesting.

With me, don't make any assumptions, but yes I did:facepalm:. And even if I am not recording it won't play. I can load one of the sample projects that came with Reaper and it won't even play one of those.

I went to Behrie's website and tried to find information about the UCG102. I couldn't find much. Therefore, I am flying blind and just picking your brain.

I see that Behrie has ASIO drivers to download.
Did you install the Behrie ASIO drivers that came with the unit? Is there an Behrie ASIO configuration GUI to make sure the I/Os are routed? If so, are they conflicting?
Latency/ Buffer size?

(just brainstorming possibilities) I assume that you have rebooted since your uninstall/install.

Are you sure the "Enable Inputs" is checked in the Audio Device Settings, in Reaper?

What do you have selected as your audio output device? The behr is input only, right?

Got it going

Guys (Gals) thanks for your responses. Yes I did all the stuff you suggested. I don't knwo what caused it but I just reinstalled the Behringer driver and got it going.

I guess I will just never be able to unplug the Guitar Link again or I'll have to reinstall again?

Thanks agiain.
