The truth is out there!
I have downloaded Reaper and the pdf manual. I was wondering if there was any third party/user derived manual that just gave the down and dirty basics. I'm going to play around with it but having some basic reference would be a great help.

I am new/again to recording. I have used pro tools digi 001 for years, but I'm working with a mac now and wanted Reaper seemed like something worth trying out before shelling out the bones for PT9 (or hopefullly instead of).

Anyway, thanks in advance for the help!

Nevermind, this is the easiest program I've ever had to work with. I just got it last night, downloaded the pdf manual from the site, and messed with it for a couple of hours today, and everything is working like a charm. I can not believe how much they have built into this program and how simple it is. I am sold. I'll give it another couple weeks before I pay my $40 but this is awesome!

Hello! I actually would recommend "Reaper Power" or "Home Recording for Beginners" (not to say at all you are a beginner, but this book is written by the same author and runs through all the Reaper basics).

Geoffrey Francis knows the program well, and provides an easy read. (What's up with half of the instructional books released being written so convoluted? haha). Both books are pretty cheap on Amazon if you get them used.

Hope this helps!
