Real Traps over Atom 12s?

I'm finishing my control room/project studio.

I've received a set of 4 Auralex Atom 12s (for beer, a friends studio is liquidating).

When I upgrade to Real Traps, should I take the Auralex Atom 12s down, or would it be better to put the Real Traps over the Atom 12s.

Since it's almost impossible to have too much LF absorption, leave them up, but don't allow them to touch the RealTraps.

As apl said you can leave them where they are, and that will work fine. As you can imagine this comes up a lot, where someone already has corner foam and then buys MiniTraps or MondoTraps. What I usually suggest is moving the corner foam to the ceiling corners, then putting our traps in the wall-wall corners where the foam had been. I recommend this for two reasons:

1. You'll get better results with a fixed number of bass traps spread around the room when compared to putting them all near each other.

2. It's a little easier to mount foam in the ceiling corners than to mount our traps there.
