I'm an electrician, but I have a fabrication shop available to me. I work in a paper mill, and some of the screens we use for filters on the processing of stock are very fine screens. I found that some screens do well for blocking pops, but some do better with the sound. What I did was take pieces of the screens and held them up to my monitors and them took them away, I listened to the difference, and the one with the least difference, I used, they all blocked pops well. I had to fabricate/weld a holder and neck, be careful, forget what you know about stocking type filters. With metal filters you only need one layer, otherwise it blocks too much of the sound. So figure out a way to stay with one layer and you'll do fine. I would buy small samples of all the screen types at Home Depot, and take them home and listen to it like I did, you'll be suprised which ones do better, mine are awsome. Good luck
